Kevin Fan (范凱倫) demonstrated exceptional musical talent from an early age. In 2014, he was admitted with outstanding academic and artistic achievements to the Affiliated Middle School of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music. He graduated in 2024 with a bachelor degree at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, majoring in dizi (Chinese bamboo flute) performance.
During his studies, Mr. Fan distinguished himself through his superb technique and profound musicality, earning numerous honors in major domestic and international competitions, including:
- 2018: Gold Prize in the Professional Youth Division at the 2nd Guangdong Provincial Traditional Instrument Competition.
- 2020: Gold Prize in the Professional Young Adult Division at the 2nd Songting Cup National Bamboo Flute Invitational Competition.
In 2019, due to his outstanding achievements, Mr. Fan was selected for the Elite Talent Development Program at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou. In the same year, he was invited to serve as a voice actor for stage productions with the Guangzhou Pearl River Film Orchestra, further broadening the scope and depth of his artistic experience.
As a member of the China Musicians Association, the Hulusi and Bawu Society, and the Chinese Bamboo Flute Society, Mr. Fan actively participates in musical and cultural exchange activities both in China and abroad. He currently serves as a Principal Dizi performer with the Chinese Music Association of Southern California (CMASC) in Los Angeles, where he is dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese music and culture.
Renowned for his expressive artistry and exceptional technical mastery, Mr. Fan has earned widespread praise from audiences and music professionals alike. He is regarded as one of the most outstanding representatives of the younger generation of Chinese dizi performers.
