Heritage

The Chinese Music Association of Southern California has entered its ninth year. At its inception, the late entrepreneur Mr. Wang Guoping continuously provided financial and other forms of support, selflessly contributing to the establishment of a platform for professional musicians and experienced amateur performers from Southern California, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and various parts of Asia. This platform allowed these musicians to perform and exchange ideas, and the orchestra has since held annual concerts to let their talents and creativity shine on stage.

We are grateful to the former leader, Mr. Wu Renjian, whose relentless efforts ensured that the orchestra successfully held an impressive annual concert last February, which was highly praised by the community.

Last summer, the board elected Mr. Xin Qiao, an entrepreneur and musician from a musical family, as the orchestra leader. Over the past year, under Mr. Qiao’s leadership, our orchestra has grown stronger and participated in numerous community music events.

We warmly welcome more professional and talented amateur musicians to join our orchestra! Together, let us contribute to the promotion of Chinese national music and the development of Chinese culture. With this, I extend my highest blessings and wish the South California Chinese Orchestra a successful performance!

Sincerely,

Mary Su
