Celebrating Elegant Music Together, Connecting Through Kindred Spirits – Beyond the Notes Lies the Beauty of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Welcome to the Midsummer Chinese Music Concert · Masters & Masterpieces Concert. The end of language is where music begins. Yet beyond the melody itself, what touches the heart most deeply is often the pure and genuine emotion expressed through the musicians’ fingertips and from within their hearts.

Tonight, all of our orchestra musicians are honored to share the stage with distinguished guest conductor and world-class musicians, specially invited from Beijing and Shanghai, including National First-Class Artists. We will pour our deepest passion and sincerity into every interplay of winds and strings, every musical dialogue and harmony, inviting you to share with us an unforgettable midsummer evening.

For eleven years, the Chinese Music Association of Southern California (CMASC) has brought together professional musicians from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong, and Singapore. We have dedicated ourselves to bringing Chinese traditional music to schools, libraries, community programs, and charitable events, while presenting high-quality performances in concert halls. Every melody we perform carries our unwavering commitment to preserving and passing on our cultural heritage.

As a nonprofit organization, our performances depend on the generous support of our community. Your presence tonight is itself a precious expression of appreciation and friendship—a kindred spirit who helps make this cultural journey possible.

On behalf of the orchestra, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Dr. Allen Wu of the City of Walnut for his steadfast support; to our Honorary Chairwoman, Ms. Mary Su, for her generous support over the years; and to our founder, Mr. Peter Wang, former president Mr. Rene Wu and Mr. James Chiao, for laying such a strong foundation for the organization. I also extend my deepest appreciation to our Board of Directors, Artistic Committee, volunteers, photography partners, Friends of the Orchestra, corporate sponsors, and all the generous individuals who have supported us. With you by our side, Chinese traditional music can continue to flourish and shine far from its homeland.

When you give a rose, a fragrance remains in your hand. If you share our vision of promoting and preserving Chinese traditional music, we sincerely invite you to join us through a donation or sponsorship and become an important force supporting our journey forward. We welcome you to visit our official website or contact me at any time to learn more.

Tonight, let us gather through music and connect as friends through music. May the spirit and beauty of this music remain in your heart, and may we continue to walk this journey together, writing new and brilliant chapters in the enduring legacy of Chinese traditional music.
